I’m Heather Sampson, CMP, DES, and I bring nearly 20 years of meeting and event planning experience and expertise to Experient. With my planner background, I am all too familiar with the challenges and lack of resources that many planners encounter on a day-to-day basis, and have seen how the role and responsibilities of meeting planners has evolved over the years. I began my career in the meetings and events industry in 1998 and instantly knew this was my calling. As an association planner for most of my career, I managed meetings, conventions and trade shows for groups of 10,000+, including a TSNN Top 250 Trade Show. I have extensive experience in all aspects of event planning from sourcing/site selection, registration/lead retrieval, housing, logistics, conference development, exhibit management, and event technology. I became a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2006, and was recently certified as a Digital Events Strategist (DES) through PCMA’s Virtual Edge Institute. An active member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), I’ve held numerous leadership positions on the PCMA New England Board of Directors for the past 5 years and served as Chapter President in 2015. I’m also a member of the Association for Women in Events (AWE) and have been a member of both MPI and IAEE.
